we work hard to introduce new ways of thinking about food. When we ask children<br />
about how they eat joyfully, they are quick to answer with cake, candy, ice<br />
cream and other sugary foods. For the most part, this is how American’s eat<br />
joyfully. Think about the last celebration you attended. What kind of food was<br />
served? It is sometimes difficult to teach the connection food has with our<br />
body. Although eating cake and ice cream is sometimes okay, it’s not the kind<br />
of food you should eat everyday. We teach children about the kinds of foods<br />
that make their bodies happy.&#0160; Here are a few ideas to introduce the<br />
concept of joy to your child’s food:</span></p>

necessary steps to prevent childhood obesity? <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">According to a new study from<br />
Ohio State University, parents who eat dinner with their children, make sure<br />
their kids get enough sleep, and limit TV may lower the risk the risk of<br />
childhood obesity in children.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Results from the study<br />
indicated that children who ate dinner with their families more than five times<br />
a week, slept for at least 10.5 hours a night, and watched less than two hours<br />
of TV a day were 40 percent less likely to be obese than children who did none<br />
of those things.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Adjusting to these routines<br />
will be highly effective, however it’s important to remember that over<br />
eating and not being active enough are the most important contributors to childhood<br />
obesity.&#0160;</span></p>
