As a Pediatric Dietitian for more 25 years, Letitia Warren works in partnership with DKWIO Founder Danialle Karmanos and Executive Director Laura Mackiewicz to develop and implement the nutritional education component of DKWIO’s one-hour formula. Her knowledge and understanding of the specific nutritional needs of children has proven invaluable in creating content for DKWIO’s student workbooks and training volunteer instructors.
Letitia provides nutrition care for pediatric patients on the rehabilitation and NICU units and works with CHM-Michigan Newborn Screening Program at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. She assess and counsels patients and their families on specialized or normal nutrition. In addition to her work at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Letitia is actively involved in community health fairs and is a certified Shapedown instructor. She has been published numerous times in various medical journals and newsletters and was awarded Michigan’s Young Dietitian of the Year in 1991. Letitia is a member of several Dietetic Associations such as the Michigan Dietetic Association, the American Dietetic Association and the Dietitians in the Pediatric Practice Association.
