With more than 15 years of experience in the communications industry, Lisa Elkin works to bring the life-saving messages of Danialle Karmanos’ Work It Out to kids, families, school systems, the media and anyone else who will listen. As Director of Public Affairs, Lisa promotes DKWIO’s dynamic messages about wellness to a broad set of audiences and supports the organization’s efforts to provide kids and families with the foundation for health in mind, body and spirit.
Lisa graduated from Michigan State University in March of 1992, upon which time she began her career in communications. Her responsibilities have covered the entire spectrum of public affairs, including work with media, not-for-profit organizations, analysts, investors and the public. Lisa’s career has also encompassed successful IPOs, advertising and events planning. This broad level of experience helps Lisa creatively advance the Danialle Karmanos’ Work It Out agenda for providing the necessary tools, options and information children need to make healthy choices in life.
Lisa lives in metropolitan Detroit with her husband and their two young boys.
